Hi, I’m Amy
I’m a specialist wellness counsellor, writer, former educator, and mental health advocate based in Cape Town. My work is rooted in psychology, counselling, trauma awareness, and lived experience, and I support people who are trying to hold everything together while quietly carrying too much.
My Background
I started my journey at the age of 18 volunteering at various organisations in the community, with the Rehabilitation Facility and SAPS Victims Support Centre being the most significant that provided immense practical training and growth while I completed my BA Honours in Psychology.
I have experience working across counselling education, trauma support, school counsellor and community-based wellbeing spaces. My work has included supporting diverse individuals and families, creating psychoeducational content, facilitating emotional wellness conversations, and helping people make sense of what they are feeling in ways that are clear, compassionate and actionable.
Who I Work With
I work with adults, parents, educators, young people and helping professionals who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, sensory stress, grief, identity strain, or difficult life transitions. I also support parents who are navigating the emotional and practical realities of raising children with sensory and neurodivergent needs.
My Approach
My approach is warm, grounded, practical, and deeply human. I believe support should feel safe enough for honesty, but strong enough to create real movement. I don’t believe in “fixing” people. I believe in helping people understand themselves more clearly, regulate more gently, and move through life with more support and self-trust.
